The Editor, The Wellingtonian
Dear Editor;
The David Henry led investigation may or may not have exceeded its brief in gathering information about the Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB) and its unlawful spying on New Zealanders, but one must wonder if the spying would have been revealed without all those inquiries. The GCSB is a secretive organization which needs to be more transparent with more public scrutiny. At least with that report we have been given the impetus to inquire further into the priorities and workings of the GCSB, and to give us a chance to rework the organization away from its original primary orientation toward the NSA in Washington, DC to working for the interests of the people of New Zealand.
Sincerely,
Richard Keller
