Amnesty International – Ali al-Nimr conviction in Saudi Arabia

26 April, 2016

King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud,  Office of His Majesty the King

Royal Court, Riyadh,  Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

King Salman:

I call on the Saudi Arabian authorities to quash the conviction and death sentence of Ali al-Nimr and ensure that he receives a fair trial that takes full account of his age when the alleged offence was committed, and which excludes statements extracted under torture and other ill-treatment. It is important there is no recourse to the death penalty.

Mr. al-Nimr is a prisoner of conscience as described by Amnesty International.

Sincerely,

Richard Keller
