Immigrants are known not to cause loss of social services, jobs, etc. according to some studies. However that may be, the complaints of the Brexit camp in the UK about immigration are not fundamentally about the loss of social services, jobs, etc. Brexit supporters generally are willing to accept those losses as long as they are led by a traditional ‘British’ leadership.
Why? Brexit supporters share with the billionaires and other British elite the exploitation ideology which both is threatening the planet from climate change and nuclear weapons and also behind the growing gap between the rich and poor and the loss of social services and jobs. The move away from a fundamental exploitation ideology will combat the loss of social services, jobs, etc., but also require the winding down of the consumer society.
